We gave you a Bibio heads up back in April when the Easter Bunny was still hopping around. Rabbit's back in the burrow now, but fear not because Bibio released new album The Apple & The Tooth this week on Warp.
Featuring 4 new tracks and remixes of his previous releases it continues the rich, lush electronic collages that brought him to our and Warp's attention. The album bridges the gap between pyschedelica, hip-hop and folktronica whilst drawing on the influence of fellow label legends Aphex Twin & Squarepusher.
Standout track is a floating synth-pop rework of Sugarette courtesy of Wax Stag, followed closely by Haikuesque, a mournful guitar melody that works with Bibio’s beautifully poignant vocals.
The talented man also designed the beautiful gold foil embellished sleeve, limited to 150 editions in the UK.
