This afternoon we're feeling more than a little bit sorry for Craig David.

Once the spearhead of a new scene, touted as Britain's hottest new talent, and recipient of 12 Brit nominations (but no wins), we almost couldn't believe our eyes today when we heard that Craig's new album is a covers album.

Although his new single One More Lie (Standing in the shadows) (sampling The Four Tops) is a great pop track it's just a generic filter house style anthem that loses any special vocal qualities Craig once showed.

With an album that's set to feature covers of 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine', 'For Once In My Life' and 'Let's Stay Together', the only thing we're wondering is if the Artful Dodger could please make his way back into Craig's life.
