Franz Ferdinand Get In A Beef

When bands moan about their music being used on an advert its a double edged sword. On one hand you can understand their feel their art is being compromised for the good of some corporate horror, but on the other you're also aware they'll be getting a hefty wadge of cash and probably sell a lot more records out of it.

Franz Ferdinand are the latest to feel a bit mopey after their US label approved the use of album track 'Bite Hard' for McDonalds. Frontman Alex Kapranos led his feelings be known over twitter this weekend saying 'I'd rather eat a cow-pat on a bun than a bloody McDonalds'. Should artists have the final say on how their music gets used, or once you're signed up to a major is it entirely their decision?

If they were silly enough not to request a usage veto clause in their deal... gotta feel for them though mind, McDonalds, that's pretty darn uncool
