The idea of a doomed 2nd album must be lingering over Kate Nash's head all too well. In 2007 her accent made some people hate her, but judging by the amount of records 'Foundations' sold and her Brit Award for Best Female, a hell of a lot of them loved her too.

We might have been expecting her to reappear with some pretty piano pop but the demos she's put up on her myspace, Kate's decided her new album, 'My Best Friend Is You', has more of a 'Caroline is a Victim' or riot grrrl flavour to it. In fact in these days where our once favourite band The Pipettes seem to have completely junked their old sound, Kate has nicked it and scratched it up a little. There's certainly a distinct whiff of Riot Becki here.
