Myspace roundup #29
Alluding (we presume) to the album by prog rock band King Crimson, Starless And Bible Black rocked us lovingly to sleep with a sound like a summer's evening on the porch with Sheryl Crow.
For the ravers, new Andy Weatherall-produced album on the way from Fuck Buttons, who'll be raising the roof of Heaven on Oct 27th. Strictly over-14s only (!)
Bok Bok may sound like a chicken, but in fact they run one of London's hottest bass-orientated nights and are now finding time to get some killer tunes made in the studio. Watch this bass!
Moving on to these would-be Dragons Denners who financed the band via the noble art of making and selling beer at self-promoted shows. Luckily, Ontarians The Rest raised enough cash to complete their album Everyone All At Once.
Rather than stealing inspiration from the increasingly dog-eared Book of Cool, this 5-piece cut to the chase with a style they jokingly refer to as 'doo-wop punk'. He-Pipettes Little Red don't look old enough to remember either movement but hey we won't argue.
To finish... sitting comfortably cross-legged between Burial and N.E.R.D, Raz Ohara is dark, beautiful and broody, just like you.
Having done this, then to supper and to bed - SDJ
