The beat goes on...
Beastie Boy Adam Yutch's film company Oscilloscope (trying saying that after a few) announced this week that they have acquired the rights to Yony Leyser's documentary WILLIAM S. BURROUGHS: A MAN WITHIN.
The film paints an intimate portrait of the American Beat author, poet and icon who died in 1997 aged 83 and features never-before-seen footage of Burroughs, alongside exclusive interviews with the likes of Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Gus Van Sant, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Sonic Youth, and David Cronenberg who each worked with and/or knew Burroughs personally.
An official release date has yet to be announced but the film, which was shown at Slamdance earlier this year, will feature at the Provincetown International Film Festival later this month.
