No it's not Russell Brand's new indie flick. Sometimes we're struck dumb with, well, indecisiveness, which is the case today when faced with Sister Wife, the upcoming single from cross-legged, long-locked Alex Winston.

This sounds like an Avril Lavigne song, no? Though presumably our Alex would never be "deranged" enough to wear converse with a skirt. I think it's the toe-curlingly childish pronounciation of "heart" that's bothering us.

The Kate-Bushiest of her tracks - admittedly helped along by the shapely twists and turns of the vocal line - has to be Locomotive, which is probably our highlight and which you can definitely hear on her Myspace.

If you can help us figure out whether this is, as the Guardian professes, "sickly sweet but with a dark core", please do. (If by "dark" they mean "sometimes sounds a little raw" or "sometimes men singers join in" we may have to respectfully disagree.) 

P.S. For geek corner; there's a nice little nod to the Christmas classic Sleigh Ride in the intro...
